Here's my portrait of my mom and Augie on her 90th birthday earlier this month. She gave Augie her 100-year-old shotgun that she used as a girl to go hunting with her father, August John Schwert. That's how the family survived during the Great Depression back in Indiana. Augie was named for his great-grandfather, a brick-layer who came over from Germany over a century ago. The picture makes me laugh because these two have always joked around with each other.
