My mom's baptismal dress, made by her Auntie Mayme in the autumn of 1925. Worn by my mom's sister, Dorothea "Dottie", and her brother, John August, "J.A.", then given by my grandmother, Lorraine Schwert, to Christ the King Church, where every baby baptized between 1939 and 1949 wore it for their baptisms. Returned to my grandmother in the summer of 1949, with a note from Fr. Somes. Discovered in my mom's cedar chest upon her death in August 2017. Returned to my Aunt Dottie last month for another generation.
